Deva (2025) is a Hindi-language action thriller directed by Rosshan Andrrews and produced by Siddharth Roy Kapur. Starring Shahid Kapoor, Pooja Hegde, and Pavail Gulati, the film is a remake of the 2013 Malayalam movie Mumbai Police, with a modified climax. Announced in May 2023, filming began in October 2023 and concluded by September 2024. The movie’s background score was composed by Jakes Bejoy, with additional songs by Vishal Mishra. With cinematography by Amit Roy and editing by A. Sreekar Prasad, Deva was released theatrically on 31 January 2025. Despite praise for Shahid Kapoor’s performance, cinematography, and editing, the film received mixed reviews due to its screenplay and climax and underperformed at the box office.

The film follows ACP Dev Ambre, a Mumbai Police officer who suffers from partial memory loss after an accident. Before losing consciousness, he had informed his brother-in-law, DCP Farhan Khan, that he had solved the murder of their friend, ACP Rohan D’Silva, but failed to reveal the culprit. As he recovers, Farhan informs him about his troubled past—his explosive temper, deep emotional scars, and his father’s tragic death in the line of duty. Despite his condition, Deva is reassigned to the case, forcing him to confront his own past and retrace his investigation to uncover the murderer.
