Daveed is a 2025 action film in the Malayalam setting and a new approach to the action-drama genre. It has been written by Govind Vishnu and Deepu Rajeevan and directed by them. About the Film
Daveed guides us through the life of a guilt-ridden, easy-going family man whose ordinary existence is broken when he is attacked by a world-champion boxer. What starts out as a battle of bruised ego eventually evolves into a battle for redemption on an individual level. The film is about his attempt to find the lost self and gain self-worth. This is a battle not just in the ring but with his own limitations and self-doubt. The film is tearful but action-packed, offering an engrossing mix of drama and athletic plight.
Antony Varghese, also known as Pepe (Angamaly Diaries fame), plays the hero in the movie. He delivers a gritty, hard-hitting performance as the underdog who emerges victorious. Supporting actors are played by Lijomol Jose and Saiju Kurup, providing an emotional depth to the narrative, while Vijayaraghavan and Kichu Tellus provide their experience to round off the cast.
The technical crew of the film with cinematographer Salu K. Thomas and editor Rakesh Cherumadam has provided a product that is aesthetically pleasing. Music and background score by Justin Varghese. Daveed was released on 23 November 2023, and the filming started on 24 June 2024 in Thrissur, Ernakulam, and Kottayam.
